The medical device company and producer of the only touchscreen insulin pumps in the U.S., Tandem Diabetes Care®, Inc., launches the t:slim X2 Insulin Pump with Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM integration.

This is the 1st approved SAP insulin pump to allow customers make treatment decisions without the need of finger pricking.

Tandem stated that it’d make any new features approved for the t:slim X2™ Insulin Pump by the FDA in 2018 accessible to all users with warranty for free through the Tandem Device Updater.

Dexcom, Inc., and Tandem announced the extension of their existing welcome offer for Animals customers from the last day of this year to March 31, 2018.

Their commitment to providing the customers of t:slim X2 a new FDA-approved functionality for no additional price emphasizes their primary goal. And, their goal is to make the life of those with diabetes easier by using software updates instead of hardware replacements.

In other words, to give them quick access to helpful inventions. The president and CEO of Tandem Diabetes Care, Kim Blickenstaff, says the necessary tools for the condition can be quite expensive.

But, their vision is to remove this barrier using technology, thus enabling people access to the latest available features in the pump therapy.

Tandem is the only manufacturer which provides tool for remote software updates for their insulin pumps. They presented their Tandem Device Updater successfully, by enabling CGM integration to many customers of t:slim X2 for free.

This was after the FDA approved the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM and t: slim X2 Insulin Pump integration in August this year. The users of t:slim X2 Pump could update their device using their PC.

So, any new FDA-approved features in 2018 will be available to all users of t:slim X2 Pump who have a warranty for free via the Tandem Device Updater.

Dexcom and Tandem Expand Current Welcome Offers for Customers of Animas

Starting from March 31, 2018, Dexcom and Tandem will allow access to the only approved continuous glucose monitoring -integrated insulin pump for more Animas users. They could make treatments decisions without the need of finger-pricking.

Customers of Animas who buy t:slim X2 Insulin Pump will get a new Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM System. Also, they’ll get $200 for participating in a patient survey in the form of a reward card. For the Tandem users, the eligibility period for the program is extended from the end of this year, to March 31, next year.

The Dexcom’s Executive VP of Strategy and Corporate Development, Steve Pacelli, is excited about extending the program to allow more Animas users who consider a t:slim X2 pump start on a new G5 Mobile CGM system from Dexcom simultaneously.

So far, the t:slim X2 Pump from Tandem is the only pump which integrates with Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM. What’s more, it’s a great opportunity for Animas users who pick pump from Dexcom integration.

So, they hope the extension of this program will simplify the life of Animas users who are currently comparing their options of available pumps.

Users of Animas pump with a warranty that expires before September 30, 2019 could use an insulin pump from Tandem for the rest of their warranty. This is a 2-year offer for a refundable deposit of $999.

They can use the deposit for getting a new pump and supplies from Tandem at the end of their existing Animas warranty. The user could return the product in the first two months of the program for a full refund of the deposit.

Another possibility would be to return the pump during the first 9 months for a pro-rated refund on the basis of the time they had it. So, eligible Animas users could have this offer through March, 31, 2018.

In other words, the Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM and t:slim X2 Pump integration offers the easiest transition option for users of Animas. The t:slim X2 Pump can be used by children starting from the age of 6. Also, it’s the only one which is integrated with the already known and loved CGM brand.
