Turmeric Lentil Soup Recipe
Here is what we will need to make this nutritious and delicious detox soup.Ingredients:
- One finely chopped onion;
- 1 and a half cups of coconut milk;
- One and a half teaspoon cinnamon;
- Two cups of lentils (preferably red lentils);
- Two grated apples (removed core);
- Two to three cups of hot water;
- A teaspoon of salt;
- A teaspoon of cumin;
- One teaspoon of coconut oil;
- One teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Instructions:
Start by washing the lentils properly with cold water. Next, let them drain and set them aside. Now, melt the coconut oil in a pot and add the onions. Let them cook until they soften up or turn golden. Next, add the apples and turmeric and let them cook for about two minutes. Make sure to stir often. Next, add the water and lentils. Once the pot starts to boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. Cover the pot not to let the steam get out. Now, it is time for the spices. Add the cumin, salt, and cinnamon. Mix everything well and wait for the lentils to soften up. If we want the soup to be thinner, we need to add one cup of water. Let the soup cook for about 2 hours. Now the meal is complete.
