2 Healthy and Delicious Omelets Everyone Must Try

Every new change is good, especially when we are talking about food.

Wouldn’t be great to include some new meals in our usual diet?

Well, that’s not a problem. As a matter of fact, there are great options for a delicious breakfast, which is yummy and healthy at the same time. Intrigued? Read on, to find out more.

2 Omelet Recipes – Both Healthy and Yummy

Recipe #1 – Mushroom Omelets

In this recipe, we can use fresh wild mushrooms like button mushrooms, shiitake, chanterelles, portobello, or a combination of some of the above-mentioned.

Necessary Ingredients:

  • Cooking spray with butter flavor
  • 6 ounces or around 180 grams of thinly sliced fresh wild mushrooms
  • Fines herbs – 1.23 ml or ¼ tsp.
  • Fresh chopped flat-leaf parsley – 15 ml. or 1 tbsp.
  • 2 thinly sliced scallions (white part only)
  • Fresh flat-leaf parsley – 1 sprig for garnish
  • Liquid egg substitute – 240 ml or 8 ounces
  • Freshly ground pepper

How to Make:

Step #1

First, take a pan and spray it with cooking spray, then heat it for less than a minute. After adding the scallions and mushrooms and then cook until they are cooked. Add pepper, herbs, and parsley. Remove them from the heat and make sure to keep them warm.

Step #2

Take the same pan and lightly respray it with cooking spray. After, add only half of the egg substitute. Cook it on medium heat. Make sure to lift the sides in order for the uncooked eggs to go under.

Once one side is ready, flip it over to cook the other side. Take a slotted spoon and use it to drain off any liquid. Then add half of the mushroom mixture onto the omelet and fold it in half.

In order to make the second omelet, repeat the same procedure. On top of each omelet add one sprig of parsley.

Recipe #2 – Spinach & Tomato Omelet

This is another great omelet with which people can start the day. The spinach contains iron, calcium, and vitamins and the tomatoes are abundant in antioxidants.

Necessary Ingredients:

  • Water – 1 tablespoon
  • Freshly ground pepper – 1/8 teaspoon
  • Five-halved cherry tomatoes
  • Extra-virgin olive oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/8 teaspoon
  • One sliced scallion
  • Baby spinach – 1 cup
  • Liquid egg substitute – ½ cup
  • Shredded Cheddar cheese – ¼ cup

How to Make:

Step #1

Take a nonstick skillet and spray it with cooking spray. Add a small amount of oil and heat it for 30 seconds on medium-high heat.

Then add the scallion and tomatoes and cook them for 2 minutes. Add the spinach and leave it to wilt for around 30 seconds. Then stir in order to combine all ingredients.

Step #2

Add the egg substitute and then lower the heat to medium-low and cook until the egg begins to set for around 20 seconds.

Remember to lift the edges so that the uncooked egg will go underneath; Do this for around 30 seconds.

Step #3

Sprinkle salt, pepper, and cheese on the omelet. After, lift one edge of the omelet and add one tablespoon of water under it.

Put the heat on low, cover the skillet, and cook until the cheese is melted, which will take around 2 minutes. Next, fold it and serve it.

These omelets for sure can be a significant and healthy change in the diet. Omelet is a perfect way to start our day.
